Program Leadership and Operations

Carolyn Garrett, Manager of Resource Development
Carolyn has over fifteen years of experience working in the nonprofit community in the areas of grantwriting, event and meeting planning, marketing and corporate relations. Prior to joining Changing Worlds she was a development officer with Chicago Foundation for Women, one of the largest women’s funds in the world. Carolyn has a bachelor of science degree in Sociology from Tennessee Tech University.

Kara Hook, Coordinator of Office Operations, Marketing and Program Support
Kara Hook graduated from the Illinois Institute of Art Chicago in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in fashion marketing and merchandising. After completing an internship with Changing Worlds, she joined the staff on a part-time basis before assuming a full-time role in January of 2005. Kara serves as the coordinator of office operations, marketing and program support, overseeing such initiatives as the development of marketing materials and the Immigrant and Refugee Contributions Awards and Education Series.

Jamie Klaus, Coordinator of Outreach Programs and Evaluation Support
Jaime Klaus graduated from Bradley University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Women’s Studies. She is currently completing her Master of Arts in Sociology at DePaul University. In 2006 she joined the Changing Worlds staff on a part-time basis providing evaluation support. Then in 2007 she became the coordinator of the outreach programs, managing the programs scheduling, marketing and development.
