Program Leadership and Operations
Mark Rodriguez, Executive Director
Mark Rodriguez leads Changing Worlds with over 12 years of experience in the nonprofit sector developing citywide collaborative efforts, managing youth and family initiatives and overseeingeducational programs and partnerships. For the past eight years, Mark has worked exclusively in the field of public education. His work experiences range from supporting principal recruitment and development to working as a university partner and trainer.
Mark graduated cum laude from Roosevelt University with a Bachelor of Arts in communications and holds certifications in adult education & literacy teaching and nonprofit management & human resource development. As Changing Worlds’ founding executive director, he has worked with the board and staff to manage the organization’s growth and development into a citywide resource reaching over 15,000 Chicago area residents.
Deborah Minor-Harvey, Manager of School Partnerships and After-School Initiatives
Deborah joins our team with over thirty years of experience as an accomplished educator, nonprofit manager, business development specialist and trainer. During her career, she has been a classroom teacher, teacher coach, and has led and developed academic enrichment programs in partnership with the Chicago Public Schools. In addition to her experience in education, she also has a vast background in organizational development, cultural diversity programming and nonprofit management.
Deborah holds a bachelor's of arts degree in education from Montclair State College and a master's degree from the same institution in student personnel services. She engaged in post-graduate study at New York University in curriculum development and instruction and completed additional graduate coursework in organizational development at Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey.
Guillermo Delgado, Manager of Arts Learning
Guillermo Delgado is a visual artist living in the Chicagoland area. He has spent the last sixteen years creating art professionally. Guillermo shares his passion for art with children, adults, and educators wherever he goes, engaging them in the creation of their own visual art, as well as helping to construct curricula that infuse art into the academic experience. His art has been published by the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Reader, Archdiocese of Chicago, Crain’s Chicago Business, and Chilean art magazine Arte Allimite.
Exhibition of his art includes venues such as the National Museum of Mexican Art, Museum of Science and Industry, The School of the Art Institute’s Betty Rymer Gallery, Chicago History Museum, Noyes Cultural Arts Center in Evanston IL, Garrett Evangelical School of Northwestern University, Heard Museum in Phoenix, Mexican Museum in San Francisco, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and Elmhurst College. Guillermo was recently awarded a Ragdale Foundation artist residency through the National Endowment for the Arts.
Patricia J. Redd, Manager of Professional Development
Patricia, an educator for over thirty years, has held positions as a teacher and principal in both private and public schools in Chicago; managed thirty schools, as one of the School’s Team Consultants for the Archdiocese of Chicago; trained and mentored teachers and administrators; facilitated partnerships for school and community-based programming; managed after-school and adult education programs and facilitated after-school enrichment partnerships. She has coordinated and implemented a multitude of workshops and conferences for teachers, parents and school partners.
Patricia was awarded a bachelor’s of arts degree with honors in education from DePaul University, a master’s degree from National-Louis University and a certificate of completion, as Senior Resource Coordinator Master Practitioner, from the University of Chicago School of Social Work Administration.
Outside of the work arena, Patricia is the Vice President for CMS Trophies and Plaques (a stabilized, family-owned business in the Chatham community for over twenty years) and a professional storyteller who has told stories to audiences in both the Chicagoland area and many other states.
Her positions as a teacher, principal and administrator have provided her with the managerial skills needed to assist foundations, which now include Changing Worlds, to service schools in the urban setting.
