Inspired by Changing Worlds´ mission to enhance cross-cultural understanding through art and writing, Jo Ann Beck, a partner in the accounting and business consulting firm of Shepard Schwartz & Harris LLP, joined the Changing Worlds Corporate Relations Board in 2004. Jo Ann says: "What drew me to Changing Worlds was the work being done to help children gain respect for who they are as individuals as well as foster cross-cultural appreciation. Through Changing Worlds´ programs, children are learning to first respect themselves and then be respectful of others who are different. If you don´t have respect for yourself, as well as others, it is very difficult to succeed professionally."
