Brett Swinney is one of the many individuals who donate their time to Changing Worlds. Brett volunteers with our outreach programs using his artistic and design skills to engage our audience in the stories presented in the exhibits. He was attracted to Changing Worlds because of the way our work develops artistic expression as a form of communication and encourages youth to explore their roots through visual dialogue.
A photographer, Brett appreciates the way Changing Worlds integrates art into its programming: "Art saved my own life by giving me an outlet to process many complex feelings and situations. I´ve always wanted to help others to realize the healing attributes of art. It seems to me that children have the most to gain from learning about the cathartic effects of art because they are still in the process of forming their perceptions about the world."
